Meagan is a second-generation dog trainer and showed her first dog in conformation at only six years of age. She has been actively competing in agility for 20+ years, including the top levels of AKC and USDAA. Additionally, Meagan started judging more than 5 years ago and is now sought-after for UKI and USDAA trials of all levels – including Masters.
Outside of agility, Meagan has experience with confirmation, obedience, as well as USBCHA and AKC herding.
Meagan has spent the last 10 years working with reactive dogs in a variety of settings. Her approach to dog training is based on positivity, motivation, and common sense. She meets her students and their dogs exactly where they are and offers coaching that will make the team better. She brings a wealth of experience, but the bond between handler and dog always comes first.
Meagan is currently working towards becoming a certified Control Unleashed instructor (CCUI). She also hopes to debut her young border collie, Wookie, in agility in 2019. She lives in Seattle after spending almost twenty years on a sheep farm in NC. In addition to dogs, she enjoys knitting, running ( hoping for marathon #2 in 2019), hiking and whitewater kayaking.
